Cruisader Canal Tour from/ to harbour Laem Chabang

Detailed Description

At 8 o'clock in the morning (or, after the arrival of the respective cruise ship) your private English speaking guide before the cruise ship in Laem Chabang in addition to their air conditioned mini bus also is already waiting. From here break we on, to a roughly two and a half-hour drive Wat Arun in Bangkok to reach.

Your private, licensed English-speaking guide is much to Thailand on the way already to tell its history, inhabitants, as well as Buddhist culture and will gladly answer your first questions.

Wat Arun - the most beautiful temple in Bangkok

First we will visit Wat Arun. We will tell you his story and the architectural elements and if the levels are not too steep, you can climb the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd platform. From here can shoot, but also details of the porcelain items not only beautiful photos about the river and the diagonally opposite "Royal Palace" and the beautiful to the Prang ongoing caryatids eaves.

But now we go on our comfortable Canal boat and off to the Canals of Thonburi!

Historic crafts

The next interesting event is not long in coming. We stop at a small factory that already existed in the ancient capital of Ayuddaya and has come to its destruction with King Taksin in 1767 to Thonburi, Thailand so unique. Here copper and Tin (ratio 7:2) are hammered by craftsmen from vessels, trays and plates in total manual work in glowing coals. Beautiful vessels for the Thai table and the House and also begging bowls for Buddhist monks. Vessels great for eight are required four days, eight workers of different trades are involved.
Note: The factory can be visited under circumstances on Sundays and Buddhist holidays.

Authentic Thai lunch directly to the Canal

Meanwhile, it's "Noon" and your stomach is determined. We however "not sooo spicy" stop Luang after many impressions on the road about 50-minute drive our Canal boat at a small food stall on the Canal bang for the delicious Thai lunch -prepared especially for you -.

Digestion we run now a little and explore doing just a few steps behind the "Wat Kamphaeng". The floors and partly Walls and stairs consist of white marble, the mighty pillars from massive teak logs. A watchable contrast offers the already 200 years ago (in the Ayutthaya period) built first temple. In the garden, even some, now green-clad Chedis are from this period. Beautiful photo opportunities, as well as the decades-old turtles in the pond of the temple or the whimsical "Cannonball trees" (Couroupita guianensis)

Can you increase the highlights still after so much good?

Yes! -If we now bang visit an artists colony Luang in the Klong, which has settled in the old townhouses and also renovated them. We will come not only in these and admire works of different art movements, but can buy even something authentic.

Absolute highlight here is the rod puppet theatre "Kumnai", we will now attend presentation. A story from SIAM national epic, "Ramayana" is given. Performers are the clever monkey God "Hanuman" and the beautiful Princess "Sita".

While a doll is led by three people at bars, because the dolls so big and heavy and therefore their movements are also very complex. The theatre was built more than 100 years ago in Siam and with us you can visit one of two in the country, which today still exists. The Siamese Theater has a very important role in the culture of the country for centuries. Finally, theatre forces rising over the land were the only entertainment and thus change of pace for the Siamese. Thus a piece you will experience during this visit authentic Thai theatre art.

When driving through the Canals, we meet the wide range of House types. Of the stilt houses in different construction, Lodges often built up over the Canal and ostentatious villas which examples illustrate the huge social differences in Thailand.

We also stop to fish* to feed and explain why this is an important activity for all Thai. You will be surprised as there are big fish in the Canals. And also a monitor lizard* basks outside of the Canals. Everywhere we are trying always, as close as possible to drive, so you get beautiful pictures.
* Pangasius (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus, SYN.: Pangasius sutchi), family of the shark catfish or slender catfish
* Bind monitor lizard (Varanus salvator), family of the monitor lizards (Varanus)

Temple 1.Class - tourist-free

En route we meet many beautiful temples, which were built not for a reason directly on the Canal and what some not unseen right or left "leave" may.

So now get out and into the Wat Ratcha Orasaram Ratcha Worawihan. It is a temple to the rank of "Royal Temple of 1st class" (as well as "Wat Phra Kaew" in the Royal Palace in Bangkok), which has already built in the Ayutthaya period, in a Chinese-influenced architectural style today at Thai temples very rarely to be found. Meanwhile superbly renovated, we here encounter a giant Golden Buddha, of the in the Wat Pho in nothing behind.
In contrast you will encounter here but guaranteed not a long nose, only some snub noses and many children of the temple school. After so much splendour and beauty want to enjoy first. We have learned from our experience, because now our guests for the first time in Thailand experience consciously slowing down!

An important experience for the "Long noses"

Anywhere on the banks of the Canals, we encounter various activities of people living here. Women at the laundry, which is done by hand of course. Or older men who meditate on their terrace. The factor time is probably forget for them.Children enjoy a cool dip elsewhere in the Canals, rave and wave at "Long noses" friendly us.These people live mostly very happy here, even though there is often little substantive to life available. Most of our guests on the way soon quickly realize that money alone just not makes you happy, but mainly slow down here on the basis of their Buddhist philosophy!

This is also an experience, we would like to give you our Canal tour!

Mainly in our peaceful Canal tour, because we just do not rush, look directly into the open houses and the locals can see in their normal living environment. You wave at smiling you, as good friends.
Always a quick stop is possible in places that interest you.

Our Klong tour ends in the Bangkok district of Dao Khanong, where we now again face the Chao Phraya River. Our tour ends here and say goodbye to your friendly captain and guide. Your driver is waiting to your cruise ship at the port back to bring you Laem Chabang.

Crusaders, whose ship do not expire until late at night, around midnight or on this day, now have the opportunity to take part in a → tour extension.

A tour extension in Bangkok is in the evening as supplementary benefit if your cruise ship not at all or only runs out on this day very late at night in Laem Chabang or Klong Toey.
